For years the only way to sample this was to visit the distillery in Tequila, Jalisco. Until now. Double distilled in copper pot stills to 46% ABV, blanco in its purest form. Aromas of fruit, baked fully-ripened agave, green olive, and earth are invitingly present. Slightly brighter and a touch more rustic than the regular blanco, the accents of butter, olive, earth, black pepper, and vegetal qualities in the flavor are enhanced because it comes straight from the still, without adding water for bottling.

You would think still strength tequila would be harsh and burn going down, not Fortaleza, this is the smoothest tequila I’ve ever had, don’t be fooled by the light taste and the smoothness at 92 proof it packs quite a punch, after sampling my first bottle I another three bottles just in case supply got short.
Best tequila I’ve had
This is the smoothest tequila I’ve ever had, excellent sipping tequila, in fact I like it so much I ordered another three bottles, just in case they should sell out
I don't like to mix my well made agave with anything. But...it does make an amazing El Diablo with Merlet cassis. Super charged with the extra ABV umph.
Fortaleza Still Strength
The Fortaleza Still Strength is a bargain for the price. It is as solid and pure as Blanco gets. It’s a high Proof but does not drink like high Proof as it has a silky palate with just the right amount of heat. Big agave flavors with a hint of smoke and spices.
